Our Partnership

Printed and bound City Alive Reports stacked

Our partnership with City Alive started in 2014 — before they even had a name — to its close in 2020.

Leaders from across Albuquerque wanted a way to come together to support Albuquerque’s entrepreneurs of color, and they wanted to do that through a collective impact initiative. To be a collective, they needed defined goals, an identity, and a presence in the community. That’s where we came in. We worked with the leaders to develop and maintain a multi-year initiative that was highly visible, both locally and nationally.

We were City Alive’s communications partner in everything from developing their branding and messaging to creating an award-winning video series, custom graphics and illustrations, consulting, and more.

This Part Was A Big Deal

Through video stories and articles featuring Albuquerque’s entrepreneurs and business owners, MediaDesk and City Alive seeked to advance a clearer understanding of the systems and resources they engage with every day. That knowledge of what is working and what is not can inform approaches to improve systems so they’re better at closing the gap in business ownership and leadership with a focus on people of color.

The Entrepreneur Series won a Telly Award, which celebrates the best in video from around the world across all platforms.
